OEL Tournament Guidelines
These guidelines establish the competition format, conduct standards, and match-reporting process for all Onward Escort League events. Tournament dates and event-specific announcements are published on the Calendar tab.

1. Format and Structure
Tournament formats, scheduling, match play, and roster rules
Tournament Formats
- Single Elimination: One match loss eliminates a team.
- Double Elimination: A team is eliminated after its second match loss. A bracket-reset match is used when required.
- Round Robin: Every participating team plays every other participating team once.
Tournament Scheduling and Lineups
- Each tournament has an official start and end date. All matches must be played within that timeframe.
- Opening matchups are randomized. Subsequent matchups rotate according to bracket progression or the round-robin rotation.
- Captains schedule their assigned match from the Competition tab and may edit the date and time before the match is played.
- The schedule is published on the Calendar and in Announcements.
- All OEL dates and times are Eastern Standard Time (EST).
Match Format and Map Selection
- Tournament matches are best two out of three maps.
- If one team wins the first two maps, it wins the match. Teams may still complete and report map three, or mark it N/A.
- Each team may ban one map per match. Map bans must be communicated before map selection is finalized.
- Event-specific changes will be stated in the applicable announcement.
Team Registration and Roster Changes
- Teams may register while a tournament is active.
- Each team must register five to ten players.
- A player may be registered to only one active OEL team at a time.
- A team entered in an active tournament may not change its roster until that tournament ends. Teams not entered may update their roster.
Minimum Match Roster
A team is expected to field five players. A team that cannot field five may choose either to continue the match with its available players or to forfeit the match. The decision must be communicated before play begins.
2. Code of Conduct
Expected behavior, fair play, communication, and sportsmanship
Respect and Sportsmanship
- Treat all players, referees, administrators, tournament staff, and spectators with respect.
- Unsportsmanlike conduct, harassment, toxic behavior, offensive language, and hate speech are prohibited.
- Players must compete in good faith. Match throwing, collusion, or manipulating a result is prohibited.
- Administrator and referee decisions must be followed during tournament play.
Competitive Integrity
- Cheating, unauthorized software, macro software, modified controllers, third-party aiming assistance, bug exploitation, and map glitches are prohibited.
- Resetting or otherwise manipulating a player’s K/D record is prohibited.
- Players may not leave intended play areas or use unintended map positions.
- Players must use their own accounts unless an administrator approves an exception.
- Stream sniping, ghosting, and sharing live information with active players are prohibited.
Match Readiness and Gameplay
- Players should be ready at least 10 minutes before the agreed match time.
- Leaving without permission counts as a forfeit unless a technical issue is verified.
- Headsets must remain worn during gameplay unless an administrator or referee directs otherwise.
Equipment and Technical Issues
- Players are responsible for ensuring their equipment is charged, connected, and functioning.
- Technical issues must be reported immediately.
- A match may be paused or restarted when a verified technical problem materially affects play.
- Individual connection problems are generally the player’s responsibility. A complete service outage may be reviewed.
Communication and Spectators
- Team voice communication is limited to participating teammates.
- Spectators may not communicate with players during an active match.
- Coaching during a live round is prohibited.
- Spectator collusion or live information may result in disqualification.
Enforcement
Penalties are applied according to the seriousness and frequency of the violation. Severe conduct may justify an immediate higher-level penalty.
Warning → Round Loss → Match Loss → Disqualification → Tournament Ban
3. Match Reporting
Captain score submission, required evidence, administrator approval, and disputes
Captain Submission Process
- Sign in and open your assigned match on the Competition tab.
- Schedule the agreed date and time. After scheduling, open the match again to enter results.
- Select each map and enter both teams’ round wins. Map three may be completed or marked N/A after a 2–0 result.
- Enter kills, deaths, and OBJ for every participating player. Select N/A for an unused roster slot and add another player row when a substitution occurred.
- Add the match recording URL when available, review the submission, and select Send for Admin Approval.
- The result remains pending until an administrator approves it.
Required Screenshots and Deadline
The submitting captain must provide screenshots of the final match scores to Dank.SSG69 or in the #match-results Discord channel. Results must be submitted by the end of the published tournament timeframe to be eligible.
Corrections, Disputes, and Account Help
Contact the administrator promptly about a disputed score, rule violation, roster eligibility question, or forfeit. Administrator-approved results are the official league record. If a captain loses the account password, DM Dank.SSG69 to recover access.
Bring Your Team to OEL
Submit a roster of five to ten players and create the captain login. Registration remains open during active tournaments; the team and account remain inactive until the league administrator approves the application.
Choose a team name, four-character tag, captain login, and roster.
The league administrator verifies the application and team information.
Approval adds the team to the directory and activates the captain login.
